Part Time Office Specialist II

South Ogden City is seeking a skilled professional for the position of Part Time Office Specialist II. This position performs fingerprinting duties for citizens; performs background checks on license applicants; operates department computer system for data retrieval; enters citation information and subpoena information in the police department records system; operates computer terminal to enter and maintain various reports; maintains property and criminal history index files; enters report narratives, and involvements (names, vehicle information, property information, etc.); maintains and updates dispositions on each case and enters changes into computer information base.

This position requires a valid driver's license, a High School diploma or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience with secretarial duties. Incumbents must be eligible to receive security clearance to access the State Computer System (UCJIS) and the sex offender registry software.

The starting hourly wage for this position is $15.92 – $19.98 per hour based upon experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position with no additional benefits

Parks Maintenance I

South Ogden is recruiting for a Park Maintenance Worker. This position performs a variety of entry level skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of city buildings, recreation facilities, parks and grounds.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of general work experience. Preference will be given to those with experience working on a park maintenance crew. A pesticide certification and/or certification through the National Arborists Association are a plus.

The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.60 - $19.43 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus an excellent benefits package.

Police Officer I-III

South Ogden City is accepting applications for a full time Police Officer. Applicants must be a US Citizen, and have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and current Utah POST Certification. Candidates must pass a stringent background check, drug screen, and a psychological evaluation. A college degree and prior law enforcement are preferred but not required.

Candidate must possess ability to prepare clear and concise written reports, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, analyze dangerous situations rapidly and accurately before taking safe effective action, enforce federal, state and municipal laws and work with the public in a courteous respectful manner.

Work conditions may present high stress and threat to personal safety during periods of search and seizure and arrest. Incumbents may be exposed to toxic materials, have to deal with unruly or dangerous individuals, unsafe building sites and may have to use deadly force. Incumbents may also be required to extend work schedule during emergency situations.

Crossing Guard

This part time position observes road traffic to determine best timing for road crossings; admits children and pedestrians into designated crossing locations; escorts children and pedestrians as needed to assure safe crossings; acts defensively when anticipating on-coming vehicles. Reports to assigned location at pre-determined times; turns pedestrian traffic lights on and off; sets out safety cones; wears and uses required safety apparel and equipment; reports faulty and/or malfunctioning lights, apparel and equipment to supervisor; clears snow or debris from walkways to ensure safe, unobstructed passage.  Starting pay is $10.40 - $11.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
