Communications and Events Specialist

South Ogden City is seeking a skilled professional for the position of Communications and Events Specialist.  This position takes ownership of the City's social media presence and positions the City as a resource for residents and businesses and implements larger public relations and social media campaigns designed to enhance the City's image. The position Supports and administers the City's brand and works with departments and city employees to make sure all employees act as ambassadors of the city's brand. Incumbents create and/or capitalize on opportunities to promote the City, City brand, City operations and City services.  Incumbents in this position perform a variety of professional, administrative, managerial, and technical duties related to the organizing, directing, and controlling outcomes for all city special events and works with businesses and residents of the city.  Applicants for this position must be able to work some evenings, some weekends and some holidays.    

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field or equivalent experience and 2 years of experience performing related duties.   

The starting hourly wage for this position is $23.78 – $29.85 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus an excellent benefits package.

Full-Time Firefighter II or III 

South Ogden City is accepting applications for full-time Firefighter/EMT II or III.   Applicants for a Firefighter II must be at least 18 years of age, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, have an EMT-B, Hazmat Awareness and Operations, Firefighter I and II Cert, and a valid driver's license.  Firefighter III candidates must have the same certifications plus an EMT-A certification.    

Firefighters provide a variety of entry-level firefighting duties related to protection of life and property by performing firefighting, emergency medical aid, and fire prevention/education duties. This position also performs minor maintenance efforts with firefighting and medical equipment, apparatus, and facilities.    

The starting annual wage for a Firefighter II is $47,708.29.

The starting annual wage for a Firefighter III is $52,408.28 – $ 66,313.20  (based on experience)

Seasonal Park Maintenance 

South Ogden is recruiting for a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker. This position performs a variety of entry level skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of city buildings, recreation facilities, parks and grounds.

This position requires one year of general work experience. Preference will be given to those with experience working on a park maintenance crew.

The starting hourly wage for this position is $15.19 per hour.

Maintenance Operator I 

South Ogden City is seeking a skilled professional for the position of Maintenance Operator I. This position Operates specialized heavy equipment such as single & tandem axle dump trucks, road graders, cats/bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoe, bucket trucks, snow plow and other similar equipment in the construction, maintenance and repair of various Street, Water or Sewer department projects and sites. This position may work in the Water, Sewer or Street department as needed.

This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least six (6) months of general work experience in a field related to the duties listed above. The incumbent must be able to work "on-Call" and be able to respond to City calls within 30 minutes of the call. Incumbents must also be able to lift 50-75 pounds on a continual basis and obtain a commercial class "B" driver's license within 6 months from the date of hire.

The starting hourly wage for this position is $20.62 per hour, plus an excellent benefits package.
